FAT LOSS TIP 12/20
“How to Rev Up Your
Metabolism”
Protein is by far the most thermogenic of the
macronutrients (protein, carbohydrate, and fat). Thermogenic means that it boosts
your bodies heat output. This is a good thing if you’re
trying to burn fat and lose weight.
Due to the high metabolic costs of processing it, protein
provides fewer storable kcal. The thermic effect of a mixed meal is
about 10% of intake, while the thermic effect of protein per se is
more like 25-30%.
That could mean reving up your metabolism by 200 kcal just
from your 200-gram (800 kcal) protein intake.
So
how can you increase your protein intake? You can supplement it through
taking a good quality whey protein. Protein powders like those by EAS
taste great in a shake and add very little calories to your
diet. They are
also easily digested if you cannot tolerate eating a lot of
meat.
Next time we’ll discuss how you can lose more weight through adding
this one drink to your diet.
