“How You Can Burn Up to 9 times more
Body Fat By Training Differently”
I see this in many gyms today. People are plodding away on a
treadmill or elliptical for over an hour hoping to lose
weight. Many are at
the same weight today as they were at two months
ago. What’s
wrong with this picture?
Aerobic exercise was popularized in the 80’s when it was touted to
burn more calories during the workout when compared to other forms
of exercise. The
latest research shows that you burn more calories through interval
training and weight lifting when compared to doing
aerobics.
How? Interval training
raises your metabolism to have an afterburn effect AFTER the
workout is over. This
way you continue to burn fat stores once the workout is
over. Aerobic exercise
does not have this effect.
Below is an example of a beginner interval training
routine:
1.
Warm up for five minutes at 50% effort on your favorite machine
(treadmill, bike, elliptical) I recommend you start on a bike
to get the hang of it.
2.
30 seconds of 100% effort/ 1 minute 50% effort (this is one
interval)
3.
Continue to do 4 intervals working your way up to 10 intervals per
workout. As you become
more advanced increase the 30 seconds up to 1
minute.
4.
Cool down for five minutes.
You’ll burn more calories in this 20 minute workout compared to if
you did it aerobically for 60 minutes. So this not only saves you more
time, but it will help you burn more bodyfat.
